So, you’re all moved in, you’ve met your new house mates and have probably had the odd night out! What we want to know is… have you captured it on camera?
With DIGS social you can share your pictures (embarrassing or otherwise) with not only your fellow residents, but with our other resident students across the north of England (Huddersfield, Lincoln and Sheffield if you’re wondering!).

The Pinnacles is a friendly and diverse place to live, our staff are welcoming and on hand to help whenever you might need them. It’s great for socialising, working and improving your English language skills.
The Pinnacles is located in a great position. It has great transport links and is within easy reach of the city centre, so you can make the most of your time in Sheffield. You will also be close to the university and have will have no trouble getting there on time.

Sheffield is a fun, affordable place to be, so it will be easy to budget. It also has plenty of international food shops to make you feel more at home too and with your Digs privilege card you will get many discounts and free things throughout Sheffield.
The Pinnacles is an incredibly safe place to live; especially important for your first time in a foreign country. All the buildings have fob access, so only residents can enter. The halls are also fully staffed 24/7 and we have CCTV just to make sure.

We have a friendly accommodation team who can support you in your move to the UK. If you need to come and talk to us or ask us questions, you can do. We are on site, in the accommodation office, whenever you need us.

Sheffield’s biggest free music festival Tramlines is back next month and we can’t wait!
Following on from its success last year, Sheffield’s free urban music festival is upon us once again and hopes to attract over 50,000 people this time around. With over 50 venues across the city including the main stage on Devonshire Green and new additions Leadmill and o2 Academy confirmed, this summer is set to be a scorcher and will be a guaranteed fix for all you music lovers out there!
Tramlines will take place Friday 23 – Sunday 25 July 2010 and has something to offer for everyone, regardless of your musical tastes with performances covering a range of genres and activities aimed at all ages… so get yourself down!
The acts this year have been confirmed including headliners Echo and the Bunnymen, Mystery Jets, Craig David and Annie Mac. Alongside these stars you will get the opportunity to sample some of Sheffield’s finest unsigned bands and artists and who knows, you may even spot the next Arctic Monkeys!
When Tramlines was first set up in 2009, it gave itself the ambitious task of creating an Urban Glastonbury, a cultural experience for everyone which would celebrate the city’s diverse and individual inhabitants.
Dave Healy, One of the Festival Organisers at Tramlines said: “We have made no secret of our admiration for Glastonbury. One of the things that makes that festival so special is the sheer variety of entertainment on offer. So our mission with Tramlines is to include as many different performing spaces and promoters into the festival as we can. It’s a free music festival so our budgets don’t stretch as far as our ambitions but this is where Sheffield comes into its own. Venues of all shapes and sizes have joined in making this year’s festival bigger, better and more diverse.”
Anyone who went to last year’s Tramlines will agree the guys did good and with promises of an even more exciting and exhilarating party this year, who knows where Tramlines will take us?!

The marathon is definitely upon us and the team’s training is hotting up!
Members of the team can often be seen leaving The Pinnacles in their running gear and returning an hour later red faced and tired… much to the amusement of the office staff! Unfortunately Elisee and Matt have had to pull out due to injuries but we want to thank both of them for their commitment to the race and hope they can make it on Sunday to watch.
Last Saturday the team went to Boot Camp to see how fit they really were and judging by the stories from Richard and Steve in the office, I think they were certainly put through their paces! Although Steve has sworn to keep going and is convinced he will soon be an Olympic champion…
“The boot camp is great, you go at your own pace but push your self and you’ll see results. I’ve been three times now and improved loads. The great thing is it has increased my fitness when doing cardio as well.”
