Skool bans slang! Pupils ordered ta use da Queen’s cracker ass english in da classroom ‘ta help kids git jobs’. In other words a school in Sheffield has banned its pupils from using words like ‘hiya’ and ‘cheers’ as the academy believes it will help the students get jobs. Head teacher Kathy August says that ‘school is a formal place much like that of the workplace, and that pupils should learn to speak in such a manner that is expected of them.’ Read the rest of this entry »
